Orthotics cure foot & ankle pain
Refuse one-size-fits-all insoles. Get a custom fit.
An orthotic is a custom-made insert placed in the shoe to provide the correct support for the foot. Many stores claim to sell “custom-fit” orthotics, but most of these are fit by an untrained salesperson or worse, a simplistic computer. Have you ever tried wearing a one-size-fits-all shirt? Chances are you found it was really one-size-fits-FEW. Now imagine that you are trying to fit an orthotic to correct your individual gait and the unique way the 26 bones, 33 joints, and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments of the foot work together.
Many companies try to sell one-size-fits-few orthotic appliances, but often they don’t match the patient’s needs. Without experience, it’s unlikely you will receive the fit and support you need. It’s best to have orthotics custom made just to your needs.
Dr. Gary Prant has spent 20 years carefully matching people to the orthotic that – for some – can literally transform their lives and free them from pain. For some patients, he takes ready-made inserts and shapes them to the individual needs of the patient. For others, the firm support of a custom-molded and made orthotic is critical.
